Azolla Farm

Pleasant Grove, California

Farm Size: 10 acres

What They Grow: Tomatoes, root vegetables, greens, and seasonal produce.

Azolla Farm is a small farm in Pleasant Grove, California, founded by business partners Scrivner Hoppe-Glosser and Jon Price. What began as an experiment on leased land across from Scrivner’s father’s home quickly grew into a thriving farm rooted in a shared passion for exceptional food.

Both Scrivner and Jon came to farming with a deep appreciation for quality ingredients, having previously worked with renowned chef Alice Waters in Berkeley. Their experience in the culinary world helped shape their approach to agriculture and their understanding of just how much thoughtfully grown produce can influence a meal.

Today, Azolla Farm specializes in an abundant selection of fresh vegetables, with a particular focus on flavorful greens such as arugula, collards, and Swiss chard. Throughout the season, the farm also produces green beans, beets, cucumbers, squash, and a diverse array of other vegetables.

From their beginnings as an agricultural experiment to becoming part of the region’s local food system, Scrivner and Jon continue to bring their love of great food from the field to the table.
