How We Operate
A non-profit food hub operates as a vital link between local farmers and the community, ensuring that fresh, sustainably grown food reaches the people who need it most. Our Farm to Market programs generates earned income that covers their operational expenses and helps fund our other impactful initiatives.
Each of our programs is designed to support farmers by paying them a full, fair price for their products. This commitment not only sustains local agriculture but also promotes environmentally responsible farming practices that nurture the land and our communities.

Bringing Local Food to Our Mountain Community
Each year, Tahoe Food Hub’s Farm to Market program distributes over 900,000 pounds of fresh, locally grown produce throughout our mountain community. This includes wholesale deliveries to local restaurants and institutions like the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District, as well as through our Giving Box Program and partnership with the Sierra Community House food pantry.
Every purchase through our programs directly supports nearly 50 small farms, primarily located in Placer and Nevada Counties. Together, we’re building a stronger regional food system, advancing regenerative agriculture, protecting the health of our planet, and ensuring consistent access to fresh, high-quality produce for our community.
