Founded in 2016 by Kristen Draz and William Holland, FogDog Farm grew from their years of learning and working on small farms. Today, they farm six acres in Placerville at the historic Wakamatsu Farm, growing more than 40 diverse crops for local restaurants, co-operative grocery stores, and their farmstand.
FogDog Farm is dedicated to building a vibrant and resilient local food system in the Sierra Nevada foothills. The farm believes that small farms are an essential part of a healthy community—and that everyone deserves access to good, nourishing food.
Certified organic, FogDog Farm uses low-till, ecological growing practices to produce nutrient-dense food throughout the year. Salad greens are a farm staple, grown nearly year-round, alongside favorites like sweet onions, melons, cauliflower, carrots, and much more.
Through its partnership with the American River Conservancy, FogDog Farm is helping ensure that this land remains in agricultural use for generations to come. The farm is also investing in the future by planting fruit trees and asparagus, establishing native hedgerows, improving soil health through cover crops and compost, and creating opportunities for the next generation of farmers.
At FogDog Farm, growing good food is about more than what goes into the harvest—it’s about caring for the land, strengthening the local food community, and cultivating a resilient future.
