Feed Your Neighbor

Our FEED YOUR NEIGHBOR program ensures equal access to the good food that the Tahoe Food Hub sources from local farms. We do this by engaging our farmers, local businesses and our community to get local food into the hands of the hungry. We do this in partnership with Project MANA, North Lake Tahoe’s hunger relief agency.

For Businesses:
Feed Your Neighbor engages local businesses with an easy way to support local farms and those in need. With a $100 donation per month, Tahoe Food Hub will purchase food from local farms on behalf of a local business and get it delivered to Project MANA for distribution. Businesses select the dollar amount and the frequency. Donate $100 of local food every week or $200 every two weeks…the business decides! Tahoe Food Hub will recognize participating businesses on the Feed Your Neighbor web page and show our appreciation at an annual Meet Your Farmer mixer in Tahoe. Are you a local business and want to get involved? Contact us here!

For Farmers:
Each week, farmers can drop-off extras and seconds from their harvest and Tahoe Food Hub will get it delivered to Project MANA for their food distribution.

For the Community:
Tahoe Food Hub coordinates volunteer, gleaning teams when local farms contact us with surplus crops. Our gleaning teams caravan down and harvest produce that may otherwise go to waste in the field and instead it gets to those in need. If you are interested in hearing about gleaning opportunities and volunteering, contact us here!
